BD2K training grants have produced a number of in-person courses, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), workshops, summer training programs, and other activities, which can be accessed through the sunburst, an interactive display of NIH-funded biomedical data science training programs. Explore educational resources from the BD2K training grants through the sunburst with this link.
The NIH Data Science Office
The NIH's Big Data to Knowledge (BD2K) Training Consortium at USC is expected to empower current and future generations of researchers with a comprehensive understanding of the data science ecosystem: the ability to explore, prepare, analyze, visualize, and interpret Big Data. To these ends, we propose a novel Training Coordinating Center (TCC) to coordinate the diverse activities occurring within the BD2K Training Consortium into a synergistic training effort. The TCC will create an inclusive and collaborative virtual environment - entitled "Big Data U" - serving trainees from a wide spectrum of educational backgrounds and scientific domains. 1U24ES026465-01, PI: J Van Horn
BD2K Guide to the Fundamentals of Data Science - lecture series
The Big Data to Knowledge (BD2K) Initiative presents this virtual lecture series on the data science underlying modern biomedical research. Beginning in September 2016, the webinar series will consist of weekly presentations from experts across the country covering the basics of data management, representation, computation, statistical inference, data modeling, and other topics relevant to “big data” in biomedicine.
