I am a rising 4th year undergraduate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. I was born in Fairfax, VA and raised nearby in Oak Hill. Despite objections from Hokie parents, I came to the University of Virginia to study engineering. Since arriving in Charlottesville, I have been involved in development projects in rural South Africa and research in the Peirce-Cottler lab. Additionally, I enjoy tubing on the James River, golf, rugby and the Washington Redskins.
BS Candidate, Biomedical Engineering, present
I study regenerative properties of human adipose-derived stromal cells (hASCs) when applied to diabetic ulcers and other chronic wounds. Other focuses include delivery and impacts of hASCs as 3D cell aggregates for therapeutic use. Additionally, I am interested in microvascular tissue engineering, angiogenesis, cell biology and other applications of hASCs.
