I am from Northern Virginia, where I played soccer, figure skated, and spent vacations at the Outer Banks. I love to cook and bake and I'm training for a 10 miler or half marathon in the early spring. Last summer I interned at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, Ca working primarily with bacteria and DNA sequencing. I look forward to finishing my Capstone/thesis and graduating in May 2008.

University of Virginia
BS Candidate, Biomedical Engineering, present

Research Interests
I am a fourth year undergraduate student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. I began working in the Peirce laboratory at the beginning of my third year using the mouse backpack window chamber model to analyze the vasculature in remodeling subcutaneous tissue. Currently I am conducting my Capstone research on free fat transplantation and angiogenic qualities of adipose tissue in conjunction with UVA's Department of Plastic Surgery and Luna Innovations Inc.
