I am currently a third year undergraduate student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Although I originally hail from Northern Virginia, I call Charlottesville home. In my free time I enjoy hiking in Shenandoah National Park, focusing my Ch'i in Bikram Yoga, and fratting hard at Pi Kappa Phi. My research is focused on designing and manufacturing high-throughput devices to culture, transfer and exchange media for human adipose derived stem cell multicellular aggregates (hASC-MAs). In addition, I am helping prepare for a phase I/II FDA clinical study evaluating the safety and efficacy of hASC-MAs on the treatment of chronic diabetic wounds. During downtime, I can often be found helping out around the lab with various projects. After graduation, I plan to pursue a combined MD/PhD degree through the NIH Medical Science Training Program.
Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, May 2010
