As U.Va.’s Program Director, David Chen is the primary resource for the University and the Coulter Foundation’s efforts to enable and lead an innovative translational research process. In addition to directing and managing the U.Va.-Coulter Partnership, David oversees identification and development of translational research projects in the Medical School.
David has a background in protein chemistry and method’s development; expertise gained during his tenure at ImClone Systems Incorporated. He was intimately involved with writing method & validation protocols and reports for FDA and European regulatory agencies. He also gained experience with FDA audits and site visits during his employment with ImClone. Most recently, David spent a summer with Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, working in marketing & new product development for the Advil brand.
David received his BS in Biology from Liberty University, an MS in Cell and Developmental Biology from Rutgers University/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and an MBA from The Darden School.
